IDP Week 8 NFL Fantasy Football 2009 Waiver Wire Pick Ups

byes: Bengals, Chiefs, Patriots, Steelers, Buccaneers, Redskins

DBs (Defensive Backs)

CB A. Goodman(DEN) has been very productive opposite of Champ Bailey and gets Wacco Flacco this week, who's been a passing machine. If you had your choice at QB, would you throw at pro bowl future Hall of Famer Bailey or the other guy? Me too. If S Brian Dawkins(DEN) is available, he's the other DB you want from Denver this week vs. Baltimore.

FS D. Goldson(SF) gets Peyton Manning week 8. In Week 7 he got 5 solos 3 assists and a fumble recovery against Houston. Expect the same, if not higher tackle totals vs. the Colts.

CB R. Marshall(CAR) will see Fitzgerald most of the game vs. Arizona week 8. I suspect his tackle numbers will be just under Jon Beason's in the box scores. Somewhere between 6-8. Throw in a potential INT or pass deflection and you've got a solid filler this week.

CB T. Porter (NO) got 7 solos, 2 assist and an INT for a TD vs. Miami week 7. Week 8, he gets Matt Ryan and the Falcon week 8 who will have to throw to stay in the game vs. the Saints.

George Wilson(BUF) vs. Houston. He's coming off an 8 solos 2 assists and INT game vs. Carolina and they don't even pass very often. I'm excited to see what he does against the high flying Houston Texans. He should be busy.

Both ATL Safeties E. Coleman & DeCloud are my DB PICKUPS OF THE WEEK vs. New Orleans. Take your pick. DeCloud has been on fire the last couple weeks. Week 7 vs. Dallas, he had 8 solos, 1 assist, a sack and pd. Coleman is a stud and might not be on your wire, but he's the one you want to target first if he's available. He had 12 tackles and an assist vs. Dallas and should be almost the same vs. Drew Brees week 8.

LBs (Linebackers)

LB D. Hawthorne(SEA) will not get 15 solos vs. the Cowboys like he did against the Giants.  In fact, I'm slightly hesitent to recommend him after seeing stud C. Lofton only get 4 solos vs. Dallas last week. But if I don't recommend a guy that had 15 solos the last time he played, I wouldn't be doing my job for you.

MLB Will Witherspoon(PHI) is now the starting MLB for Philly. And they get the Giants week 8. If no one has scooped him up yet your league, you are a lucky FFer.

S. Phillips(SD) got 2 sacks week 7 vs. KC and there's no reason he shouldn't do the same vs. Oakland week 8.

Is DL/LB Calvin Pace (NYJ) available? 3 sacks week 7 and the LB GOLD MINE Miami running game week 8. Expect big numbers as an LB or DL.

K. Maiava(CLE) was solid enough week 7 with 5 tackles and with MLB D. Jones getting 7 solos week 7 vs. CHI, it bodes well for USC rookie Maiva doing close to the same against them.

C. Crowder(MIA) is not a guy I want to recommend. In fact, he really ticks me off because he was one of my best guys last year and has let down so many IDPers this year. However, he faces the Jets week 8 and I could see him getting 6 tackles and I can also see him being on many people's waiver wire so that's why he's mentioned here.

Speaking of IDP guys people love to hate, AJ. Hawk(GB) just got 7 solos week 7 vs. CLE, which was not a good matchup and Cleveland was playing from behind the whole time. In fact, I'm not sure how he did it. But he has a much better LB matchup week 8 vs. Minnesota. The warning here is that both Hawk and Crowder are very inconsistent, but they are bye week flyers that might be worth the risk..

My LB PICK UP OF THE WEEK is D. Levy(DET) vs. STL. I believe this will be a pretty even matchup so you should see an extremely healthy dose of Steven Jackson against Detroit. Levy has been very impressive. The only small concern is how healthy Ernie Sims is. But it's a small concern because Levy is playing well, and Sims never seems to be healthy. Levy even has a chance for a sack in this one.

DLs (Defensive Line)

Sneaky play week 8 is DE Brian Robison(MIN) vs. GB. Last time he faced GB, he got 1.5 sacks and the MIN defensive coordinator remembers that so he might give him a few more opportunities at Ray Edwards expense. Obviously, we all know that GBs line is a revolving door and this is a suggestion based on the concept that Jerod Allen gets most of GBs focus based on his 4.5 sacks last time MIN & GB met.

Get A. Brown(CHI) vs. the Browns week 8. Nothing more needs to be said. Cleveland Browns bad, Alex Brown good.

Every time I recommend DE Cliff Avri(DET), usually as my DL pick up of the week, someone writes me and says he's no longer the starter for Detroit. I always reply, I know, but watch and see. Every single time he gets at least 4 tackles and a sack, including week 6 vs. GB when he got 6 solos, an assist and a sack. So I'm doing it again this week and I do know he's not the starter. Coming off their bye week, Detroit gets St. Louis week 8 and I really like his chances to continue his sack streak to EVERY SINGLE GAME HE'S PLAYED THIS YEAR! He was injured the first few games of the year, but in all the games he's played since week 4, he's had a sack. Now you know why I keep recommending him.

DE Justin Smith(SF) had the game I thought he could against the Texans week 7 with 8 tackles 2 assists. So instead of sticking with Smith, who has Indy next week, let's move on to my DL Pick Up of the Week DE Chris Kelsay(BUF) who gets the Houston Texans week 8. With 6 solos week 6 and 3 solos and 1 sack week 7 vs. Buffalo, I really like his chances to have a good game vs. the DE friendly Texans.

Monk, I've been riding your Pick-ups most of this year (Thanks for Dumerville). One Question: Should I Drop CC Brown for E. Coleman?

ALEX said...

hey man, kind of a 911 here. Im down 6 points in my league going into tonights game. he is done and i still have trent cole to play in my d-line spot...is he my best d-line option in tonights wash vs. philly game? all others are available!...please let me know ASAP!!!

Highlander said...

Whats going on with Osi? Take away week 1 and hes averaging like 1.5 tackles per game. Who do you like better going forward- Bob Sanders or Ed Reed?

Unknown said...

@ Tom
Definitely drop CC Brown for Eric Coleman for week 8. Brown's FF run is over and he may be benched soon

Pro Bowl vet Colemen faces Drew Brees this week. I just dropped Gary Brackett for him and I'm quite happy to have him

Unknown said...

@ Alex
No need for nervous feet on gameday. Trent Cole is your man. He has a great chance of getting you your 6 or more points tonight. MNF and he'll be pumped. He'll have his sack & tackle opportunities tonight

Unknown said...

@ Highlander
Osi will bounce back week 8

Bob Sanders is fantasy gold if he's healthy. Unfortunately, if you're asking me who to use week 8, it's Ed Reed vs. Kyle Orton.

We have to see Bob on the field for an entire game first. He was taken tot he locker room again last week 7 for a look at his knee. I think it best serves the Colts to not rush him and save him for the playoffs when they need him. If you have room to store him on your bench, do it, but he can't be trusted for week 8.

Schmo said...

So I have a dilemma... i really like Calvin Pace but I don't know how he compares to Trent Cole and Dumervil.
Sacks worth 5 points, pass defense 3 pts, 1 pt per tackle, 3 pts tackle for loss.
I can only keep 2.

who of the DL's would be your highst pic this week. thanks for your advice! bob

Hey monk I need ur help i have a huge game this week... Should i drop marques douglas and for hoo? i need someone that will get me pick points.. Also i have delmas should i drop him for sharper since sharper has been doing very well..? and last thing DJ WIlliams for lance briggs, stephen tulloch, keith bullock, brian cushing should i get one of those or stick with DJ?

Whew...thanks for the Witherspoon info...didnt play him(went with morrison), but he's coming off the pine next week.

But, got to ask, should I keep Woodson, or go with your E. Coleman suggestion? He seems to be shaping up studly...

Thanks again!

Monk,

I just started playing IDP this year after 10 years of playing FF. I really like it.

Your blog has been invaluable in helping me decide who to roster and start.

What do you foresee for Andre Carter after the bye? He was excellent for me this week (I had him and Trent Cole left to play on MNF trailing by .6 pts with my opponent starting Cooley and Portis but I won 132.46-123.96). However, I am in a roster crunch and am not sure if I should drop Carter or someone on the offensive side like Felix or McCoy (I also have ADP, Beanie, Buckhalter, Bell -- I missed the draft but have built via WW and am 6-1). It seems like I can more easily replace a DL than an RB though. Also, FFToday's SoS for Washington's DL looks really unfavorable. We start a flex D, 2 LB, 2 DB, and 2 DL. I have Fletcher (also on bye), Morrison, Tulloch, Briggs, Cole, Roman Harper, and Charles Tillman.

If I did drop Carter, I'd pick up Kelsey.

Thanks and keep up the good work! I just wrote an IDP resources post on my FF blog (http://www.ffmba.com/2009/10/useful-idp-sites.html) and mentioned your blog.

I need to start a DT this week due to injury. Who is the best option out of these four guys: Cullen Jenkins, Cliff Avril, Jay Ratliff or Randy Starks? Thanks for all of your help each week!

Anonymous said...

Two questions: Which one of these LBs are the best play this week and which is the best to own the rest of the season? Antonio Pierce, Will Witherspoon or Stephen Tulloch?

Anonymous said...

I need a bye week fill in for Leon Hall. Which one of these corners would you start this week: Derek Cox, Tracy Porter, Terrell Thomas, or Jarius Byrd?

Swamp said...

Hello Monk,

Right now I got D.Harris as my 2nd LB, T. Cole as my 2nd DE & E.Weddle as my 2nd DB.

Do you think one of these guys will have a better day over D.Harris - W.Witherspoon, S.Phillips, D.Levy, E.Simms, D.Hawthorne, D.Jones or K. Maiava.

Should I bench Cole & start C.Avril or C.Grant?

Do you like any of these guys over Weddle this week - D. Goodson, Jarius Byrd, Ronald Bartell, Chris Johnson, J.Babineaux, Kerry Rhodes or A.Wilson?

Thanks & keep up the good work!

Unknown said...

@ Schmo
Cole & Dumervil are your guys. They are the elite of the elite at DL and even out score most linebackers each week. I wouldn't blame you if you took a flyer on Calvin Pace over Cole because of the safety of knowing Pace will get more consistent tackles, but Cole is the homerun hitter out of the 2.

Unknown said...

@ Anonymous
The order that I have the DLs order is there ranking. Good question, I should state that and be more consistent with that. But in this case, those waiver wire DLs are in order with Kelsay having the best matchup & opportunity out of the group.

Unknown said...

@ Eli
Dropping Delmas for Sharper all depends on your FF philosophy and the team you have around those guys. As I wrote in an article earlier this year, if that particular slot is your "homerun/take some chances slot", go Sharper. But if you're already taking a few risks at other positions, go Delmas because he's more consistent with at least 5 or more tackles a week. Sharper is ranked really high for his knack to return INTs for TDs. He's a lot like Ed Reed that way. Both are big boom or bust guys.

You asked DJ WIlliams for lance briggs, stephen tulloch, keith bullock, brian cushing should i get one of those or stick with DJ?

Those are all great players, but none standout as being better than DJ for the rest of the year. If you're asking for just this week both TEN LBs have a nice matchup vs. MJD and I like Cushing vs. Buffalo. But DJ should be fine against Baltimore so I would stick with DJ.

Unknown said...

@ Anthony
You welcome!

If you are talking just this week, I like Coleman better than Woodson. If you mean for the rest of the year, I think I still like E. Coleman. If only for the simple fact that you get more consistency out of a Safety than a CB.

Unknown said...

@ Chris

Thank you for the great compliment and the "kudos" on your blog. That's a nice collection of IDP links you put on there.

That's a good question about Andre Carter. I looked ahead and don't get very good vibes from his schedule. I think you're correct to drop him and just play the DL matchups. They are tricky to predict and are very matchup dependent. At least we know we can always get the guy facing GB or BUF, right? haha In fact, set your sights on TB DE Wilkerson who gets GB week 9. Monitor him because he's the one you're going to want to target week 9 and is easily my DL Pick Up of the Week that week.

Not knowing who else is on your wire, I think you'll do well with Kelsay. Just keep in mind, he is a "waiver wire" prediction. If you have a clear cut FF "starter" like Mario Williams vs. Buffalo out there, let me know.

Unknown said...

@ Anonymous

I still like Cliff Avril's changes the best.

@ Anonymous
I would go Tracy Porter. Love that matchup.

Unknown said...

@ Swamp
Right now I got D.Harris as my 2nd LB, T. Cole as my 2nd DE & E.Weddle as my 2nd DB.

No, D. Harris is the man!

If you have to "drop" Cole, not, but if you keep him, I would start C.Grant vs. ATL. But Cole vs. the best offensive line in the league week 8 is not a good matchup.

Weddle is the best DB in the WHOLE league. And also happens to be the Man!

Michael,

Thanks for the advice. Yes, based on the SoS I am looking at getting Wilkerson. Too bad he's on bye now and I am short on roster room.

Other DLs on WW are Stroud (who I've used before but feel like has tailed off), Leonard Little, Kelsey, Kevin Williams, Cullen Jenkins, Shaun Rogers. Maybe Kevin Williams?

mike said...

Hey, need to get a bye week filler at DB...im looking at the following,.... the Atlanta safties, yeramiah bell, cedric griffin, or tyvon branch...who do you think? how would you rank these guys? who should i get?

Jack said...

Monk,

The past few weeks your suggestions have really paid off (so thanks!).

I play in a league that uses three IDPs (DL, LB, DB) in place of D/ST. Currently I'm rocking Mario Williams, Witherspoon, and CC Brown (soon to be Coleman). Tackles are 1 pt, sacks/PD are 3 pts, and int/FF/recov. are 4 pts.

I'm wondering if I should drop Williams as he seems to have been hamstringing my team. This might be due to his injury, but three sacks on the year isn't too great, especially when there are some good players on the waiver wire (A. Carter, T. Cole, Suggs, Freeney, J. Taylor).

So what are your thoughts about Williams? Should I keep him active, hoping he has a breakout game? Or should I bench him until he shows some promise? If that's the case, which of the aforementioned waiver guys do you recommend picking up?

Thanks!

Jerod Mayo is a top __ LB the rest of the season?

Anonymous said...

Hey Monk!

I managed to pick up Decoud from the Waivers.

So the question now is, who am I starting, pick 2 of the three:
Delmas vs STL
Decoud vs NO
Bethea vs SF

Thanks!

Sean said...

Hey Monk,

I have a universal defensive position open and im thinking about picking up Hawthorne, Bullock or Witherspoon.

Who do I go for?

League scoring is 1 pt per tackle, .5 for assited tackle and 2 pts per sack.

Thank!

Monk,

At DE for Week 8, I've got Alex Brown, Patrick Kerney and Chris Kelsay. Which 2 to start and which 1 to bench?

I noticed you mentioned Brown and Kelsay, but where does Kerney stack up?

Hey Monk,

Hoo do u like better for this week? Cliff Avril or Alex Brown? they both have very good matchups. Cliff has done very well the last two games and like u say u always reccomend him.. This is the most important game for me so please help me. I wud be dropping marques douglas unless u think hes better?

Bperiod said...

Due to terrible draft planning, I have to drop either Jerod Mayo or London Fletcher to fill a DB spot due to byes. (I have Thomas Davis, Calvin Pace and Terrell Suggs (can play DL or LB) filling in this week @ LB. However I am short a DB and wanted to add DeCloud. London has the man this year..but it hurts to have to put Jerod out there on the wire...advice?

Unknown said...

@ Eli

Avril vs. Stl is a real nice matchup and his sacks have been very consistent. He's the guy I'd roll with out that group of guys you listed.

Jason Taylor did nothing vs. the Jets last time they played, but if you have more confidence in him, he might pick up a sack too. Alex Brown has been quiet since early in the season, but it is the Browns so it's hard not to give him a recommendation.

Unknown said...

@ Chris
As I say, my man this week is Kelsey vs. the DE friendly Texans.

Unknown said...

@ mike
Those guys are fillers!!! This is a very nice problem to have.

Gotta go yeramiah bell here

Unknown said...

@ Jack
You're welcome!

of all weeks to talk about dropping Mario Williams. Any other week than when he's facing Buffalo, I'd say definitely. But it's Buffalo! How do you bench him vs. Buffalo. If you do, I would go Freeney as the next best matchup vs. SF this week. All you others are studs, but have bad matchups. I LOVE T. Cole the most, but NYG has one of the best lines in the league.

Unknown said...

@ Anonymous

YUP, Jerod Mayo is a top LB the rest of the season

Unknown said...

@ Anonymous
I managed to pick up Decoud from the Waivers.

Bethea & DeCloud are your guys and you're going to love it!

Unknown said...

@ Sean
Witherspoon vs. the Giants or Bullock vs. MJD this week. Wow! That is such a close one. I think I have to go for the MLB Witherspoon. Bullock shares tackles with Tullock. Hawthorne's not in the competition until we see him put a couple weeks of good games together.

Unknown said...

@ Michael

Romo is kinda tough to sack & Kearney only has 14 tackles on the year compared to Alex Brown's 21. So if Kearney does not get a sack, get scores you next to nothing. I think Alex Brown has a much better chance at a sack & tackles this week. It's the Browns!

And Chris Kelsay's matchup is perfect. That's the most you can ask for in IDP. The rest is just luck.(hopefully good rather than bad luck)

Michael said...

Monk,

Thanks for the advice, your column is invaluable and your responsiveness is very generous.

At S I've got Weddle, Atogwe and Meriweather. Meriweather was a crowd pleaser last week, but I'm not good at calling week vs strong offenses for that position (Saftey). Are there any others to consider for week 8 or should I stick with Weddle and Atogwe on active and Meriweather on Bench?

Thanks
Mike

Unknown said...

@ Fantasy Luver
I like Avril better than Brown. Although I like Brown's matchup a little better vs. Cleveland, Avril has been been more consistent.

No, marques douglas did nothing vs. the Jets last time they met. His 27 tackles are at a linebacker level. It sucks he was battling the flu vs. Oak last week. Some things just can't be predicted. Same think happened to Wimbley 2 weeks in a row. They need to start putting "flu" on the injury report.

Unknown said...

@ Bperiod
First, I commend you on not considering taking a "0" at a position. I've seen people do that & I can't believe that.

Looking ahead at the rest of the season and the crucial playoff weeks, I'd keep Mayo and drop Fletcher. Mayo has better LB matchups when they count. Very hard decision. Are you sure you can't trade Fletcher and get something?

Unknown said...

@ SD
Cox is very good, but I don't see Vince Young or Collins getting him as many points as T porter on MNF this week

Hey Monk,
Thanks for the E.Coleman advice, I wanna know who i should start along side , C. Woodson or Atogwe? Also which 4 would you start from: Hakeem Nicks, Miles Austin, Johnny Knox, Marshawn Lynch, Mike Bell, and Justin Fargas

Unknown said...

@ Michael

At S I've got Weddle & Atogwe are the one's now and the rest of the year unless merriweather goes completely nuts over the next couple week, which I doubt.

Unknown said...

@ John

I really like Pace as a DL, but Bullock has more value as a linebacker.

Unknown said...

@ SD

That's a really tough question. Mayo vs. E.J. My gut says Mayo based purely on upside as Mayo keeps getting healthier. In the past, EJ always had such a strong D line that his tackles were more limited, but they've been dinged up this year.

I would go Mayo, personally, but it's only out of favoritism and personal choice. It's so close, you're fine either way.

Unknown said...

@ sadama_binladen
Binladen. Why don't you tell me where you're hiding. I promise I won't tell anyone like our government or our best sharp shooters or GIJOE. I promise.

Seriously, I looked closley at buffalo's jairus byrd and he's a hard to read. I lean towards more proven guys, but it depends on whether your a "high roller" type of FFer. I tend to be more conservative.

Unknown said...

@ SWAMP408

Great question. Based on matchup alone, it has to be DeCloud vs. NO. But based on consistency, it's Wilson. I think Houston get's way ahead in this one and runs Slaton more. Brees will pass enough to make a safety like DeCloud get his tackle opportunities.
It's much closer than I originally thought. I can tell you that I had George Wilson as my DB of the week until I saw E. Coleman on my wire and thought maybe he'd be on some of yours too. It's very very close and a great question.
Think of Wilson as the conservative (smart/solid) start and DeCloud as more of your hit or miss homerun hitter. They've both been very hot. I just like DeCloud's matchup a little better.

Unknown said...

@ cml9076
I don't know what happened to Cooper last week, but last time they played OAK, he had 13 tackles week 1. You can't sit a guy that had 13 tackles in their last meeting. Dansby & Pace are close for me this week, but I'd go Dansby because Pace shares tackles with 3 other studs every week. However, if your league is high in sack points, I'd lean towards Pace vs. Miami. It's tough because Miami is so run heavy, but so is Carolina and you know they don't want Delhomme passing too much.

I'm having trouble getting a read on what STL will try to do against Detroit. You know they'll run S. Jackson, but I don't see Bulger passing intermediate routes near delmas. He never throws to his tight end. And DeCloud had been on fire and gets Dree Brees from the Safety position. I'd go DeCloud, but if it means dropping Delmas for the season and losing him, it might not be worth your risk in the long run. You have to know if you can do that.

Unknown said...

@ Jack
Thank you Jack. That's a great compliment. I don't know if I'm the best IDP info on the internet, but I might be the best FREE IDP info. haha

Bethea or Y Bell is a nice problem to have. Bethea is always a great play because Peyton is forcing teams to pass most of the game to catch up. I don't see SF being an exception to that rule. And we say Alex Smith go deep down the middle to Vernon Davis at least 3 times last week. I like Betheas chances for both his usual tackle numbers & and INT with Smith trying to force the ball to both Davis and new guy Crabtree (who he does not have a feel for yet. So I like Bethea, but Bell's very good to so it's a win/win.

No, to Dobbins. He did nothing before that and he's an SLB. If you take a risk on any LB in SD this week (besides Cooper), it would be Phillips for his sacking ability. I would go D. Levy from Detroit much quicker than Dobbins if you need a 4th sleeper.

Unknown said...

@ SWAMP408
Great question! You can't every bench Weddle.

As I made a case earlier to someone else, the second guy I would start DeCloud over Wilson for upside, but Wilson might be safer. Wilson has a ceiling however, where the sky's the limit for DeCloud who seems to make things happen. He's very aggressive with INTs & Sacks. He may be an IDP super star in the making. Time will tell.

Unknown said...

@ SWAMP408

I answered some of your questions earlier.

I would go D. Harris against MIA as at top 3 LB this week. Best tackle machine on NYJ vs. the #1 running team in football. What's not to like. He'll have bigger #'s than Patrick Willis this week.

If you can't get J. Wilkerson, than Stylez White is a sneaky play vs. GB next week, but Wilkerson is the one you want. He'll easily be my DL pick up of the week for week 9.

Unknown said...

@ Kamal Kiran
You're welcome!

Can't bench the Pos. They will run Slaton vs. Buf and Pos will cover O. Daniels a good bit.
And you have to love the Witherspoon NYG matchup. Those are my 2 from your list of Wtherspoon, paul posuluzny, shaun philips, eric barton, wembeley, maiva

I see you mean about having 2 guys from same team like that, but both will be productive so I like decoud and coleman on the same team. I think you're better off than me. I have 2 LBs & 2 safeties from same team this week. Laurinitas & Atogwe & Lofton & E. Coleman. One is not going to be as productive as the other, but how do you bench any of those guys.

Unknown said...

@ Anonymous
I'd start Avril & Osi
Kevin Williams only had 2 tackles last time he faced GB.

You gotta go Henderson, Laurinitis, & Vilma, but I'm extremely tempted to go Hawthorne instead of Vilma. He came through against the best running team in football last week vs. MIA, but he's been such crap this year. And Turner is not running well at all. I'd say start Vilma and let's see what Hawthorne does this week.

The matchup says to start Hawthorne though. Dallas will get ahead of Seattle easily and start running. Atlanta will fall behind the Saints and start passing, which takes away opportunities for Vilma. My only apprehension is if Hawthorne was just a fluke with those 15 tackles vs. NYG. Curry is coming on lately and there's a chance he could take over MLB if Hawthorne proves to have been just a fluke. This is one of those make or break games where Hawthorne could be the next David Harris of a few years ago or the next Hillenmeyer out of Chicago who came no where close to filling the shoes of Urlacher. I can tell you that Hillenmeyer (probably not spelling that right) never had 15 tackles in a game though. I'm really excited to see what Hawthorne does.

Unknown said...

@ Tom

I'm going E.Coleman & Atogwe Woodsen did nothing last time he faced Farve & I can only go by that. You and I will go down together because I'm staring Coleman & Atogwe alsow.

As far as your WR starters. I'm sure you know #1 is Miles Austin. He has the potential to be the next FF super star of the year if he can come anywhere close to staying on the pace he's on.
#2 starter is Hakeem Nicks based simply on the fact that he's scored 4 games in a row now. Can't bench a guy who's done that, even if the last one was luck.
#1 RB is Fargas this week vs SD
#2 RB is Mike Bell (I know you'd think it would be Lynch, but it's not. Trust me on this. Keep him on your bench this week. Especially if your in PPR)

If one of those was a flex spot & it's ppr, I'd go Knox over Bell in that 4th spot. But if it's a "regular league" go Bell for the goaline TD

That's how I'd roll this week looking at the matchups.

Thank you for the Boley update. I did not know that. I thought I read that he had season ending surgery.

EVERYONE, GOOD TIP FROM READER BELOW:
"Boley's not out for the season. He practiced yesterday and the day before. Will be back earliest on Sunday, latest the Sunday after."

I have Bethea, Decoud, and Kerry Rhodes. Would you pick up George Wilson and start him over any of them?

Monk,

Thanks, But last week was Dobbins first start of the year and he is filling in, in the middle for Burnett again this week. We'll see I guess.

@Jack
Sorry about that Jack. I got Dobbins confused.
That was his first time filling in.
You are right. We will have to see with him. SLB is not the prime position for IDP, as you know so you're almost safer going with MLB who are still on the waiver like a Demorrio Williams or a Hillenmeyer since that have a better shot at consistency.

It would be Henderson out of that group.

I have Bethea, Decoud
It's very close, nearly a tie between Decoud and Wilson, but I would start Wilson over Kerry Rhodes this week.

That would be a hell of a lineup to have this week. They all might be in the top 5 safeties this week with guys like Y. Bell.

For got to answer your question about Lawrence Jackson.
He doesn't really jump off the page to me. I few him as middle of the pack and his matchup against Dallas isn't anything special that I can see. He appears to be a dime a dozen guy to me.
