IDP Week 16 NFL Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups - 2012

For those who may not have seen the message. I am no longer posting my articles on the blog, but if you sign up for "Free Monk Mail" on the right, I'll be sending you IDP updates, comments, injury news directly to your email.

  • Dallas Cowboys LB Ernie Sims (concussion) left the Week 15 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first half due to concussion and did not return.
  • Arizona Cardinals LB Quentin Groves (foot) was in a walking boot after hurting his right foot in Week 15
  • Seahawks LCB Richard Sherman's four-game suspension appeal will be heard on Friday, two days before Seattle's Week 16 game versus San Francisco.
  • Oakland Raiders SS Michael Mitchell (neck) suffered a neck injury in Week 15.
  • LB Kavell Conner (hamstring)  & FS Tom Zbikowski (knee) are out Week 16
  • Detroit Lions CB Jacob Lacey (knee) suffered a left knee injury in the Week 15 loss against the Arizona Cardinals.
  • New York Giants SS Kenny Phillips (knee) said he is "100 percent certain" he will play in Week 16. Whether he actually gets the not over Stevie Brown is the mystery. He should because he's the better athlete and I'm sure the Giants are looking for a change after that Atlanta embarrassment.
  • Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy would not guarantee CB Charles Woodson (collarbone) would be back for the Week 16 game against the Tennessee Titans.
  • Jacksonville Jaguars LB Daryl Smith (groin) is eligible to return from the Injured Reserve/Designated to Return list. He has not played this year after aggravating his groin injury in early September, and then mid-October, resulting in surgery. 'This is a big week for him. I'd like to think he's going to line up,' head coach Mike Mularkey said Tuesday, Dec. 18.
  • Oakland Raiders DE Andre Carter played 32 of 44 snaps in Week 15, his highest percentage of the season. He was credited with a sack and five quarterback hits.
