Week 12 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups - NFL Fantasy Football

Three Games on Thursday

Immediate Pickups

Linebackers
(Some LBs to point out who were on this list before and should no longer be on your Waiver Wire are NaVorro Bowman, Rolando McClain, Ray Maualuga, Donald Butler, Daryl Smith, Wesley Woodyard, Thomas Howard, Gary Guyton, Brandon Spikes, James Farrior, Brooks Reed, Kevin Burnett, Omar Gaither. If they are still on your Wire, pick up those guys before anyone listed below)

Colin McCarthy (LB, Ten) – Is this the new changing of the guard happening right before our eyes? Barrett Ruud was what stood between this kid’s talent and the starting lineup, but an injury to Ruud gave him the opportunity to show he can put up 10 solos. He’s officially worth getting on your team because he’s that good and in such an incredible situation that he could become one of those mid-season Sean Lee type of finds.

Perry Riley (ILB, Was) – For the second week in a row, Riley has posted high tackle numbers in place of the recently benched Rocky McIntosh. He put up 5 solos/6 assists in Week Eleven and 7 solos/2 assists in Week Ten. He’s you highest priority LB to target on the waiver wire this week and can be used as your LB3.

Chris Chamberlain (OLB, Stl) – Chamberlain continues to surprise me with his consistent numbers week after week. He has been solid long enough to earn my trust and I’m looking at him to replace my LB4. He’s put up 4 or more solos for 5 weeks in a row, plus a sack, an INT and 2 pass deflections within that same time frame.

Quincy Black (LB, TB) – Two out of Three games Tampa Bay has played recently, Black has put up at least 7 solos. Out of all the linebackers, he has been the biggest producer over the last 3 weeks.

Kelvin Sheppard (LB, Buf) – Buffalo takes on the Jets Week Twelve and all of the Denver linebackers had a big game against the Jets Week Eleven. Sheppard had 6 solos and an assist Week Eleven and could help your team as your fifth LB Week Twelve.

Manny Lawson (LB, Cin) – In Week Ten, Lawson had 4 solos/6 assists and a half sack. In Week Eleven, he put up 5 solos and an assist. He faces Cleveland in Week Twelve and would be solid LB5 to slip onto your lineup if you’ve been playing the “linebacker lottery” with guys like Geno Hayes and Antwan Barnes.

Defensive Linemen
(Some DLs to point out who were on this before and should no longer be on your Waiver Wire are Kyle Vanden Bosch, Phil Taylor, Jabaal Sheard, Ahtyba Rubin, Derrick Morgan, Andre Carter, Aldon Smith, Jeremy Mincey, Brian Robison, Greg Hardy, Carlos Dunlap, Chris Long, DT Phillip Taylor, DT Antonio Garay. If they are still on your wire, pick up those guys before anyone listed below)

Geno Atkins (DT, Cin) – Just in case you didn’t pick him up last week based on my strong recommendation, he proved this week that he’s a must ad by putting up 4 solos/2 assists and a sack in Week Eleven.

Robert Quinn (DE, STL) – There is a borderline chance that Quinn is still on your waiver, based on my research. If he’s there, consider yourself very luck and snatch him up. He’s coming off a Week Eleven with 5 solos and a sack and he gets Arizona Week Twelve, who have been very “DE friendly” for sacks. In weeks were guys like Julius Peppers and Charles Johnson put up zero points, guys like Quinn who have been consistently posting solid numbers for a few weeks now are hard to fin.

Thomas Keiser (DE, Car) – Carolina is changing up their rotation with the defensive ends and Keiser has seen a lot of work over the last two games. Week Eleven, he put of 5 solos and 2 sacks. Those are awesome numbers for a DE and makes Keiser worth a try as your DL2 Week Twelve.

Brian Price (DE, TB) – He has picked up a sack in each of his last two games.

Defensive Backs
(Some DBs to point out who were on this list before and should no longer be on your Waiver Wire are Morgan Burnett, Kam Chancellor, Dashon Goldson, Jon McGraw, Eric Smith, Sean Jones, George Wilson, Reggie Nelson, Charles Godfrey, Jordan Babineaux, Justin King, Husain Abdullah, Charlie Peprah, Terrence Johnson, Tanard Jackson, Ryan Clark, and Lardarius Webb, Chris Harris. If they are still on your wire, pick up those guys before anyone listed below.)

Prince Amukamara (CB, NYG) – This is what everyone has been waiting for from this first round draft choice. Amukamara first official full-time outing was very successful with 5 solos, an INT and a 2 pass deflections. If there’s any chance he’s available in your league, he could be your CB1 in cornerback required leagues or a DB2 in standard IDP leagues.

Lito Sheppard (CB, Oak) – His 6 solos and a sack Week Eleven were solid and it’s consistent with his Week Ten play. He gets Chicago next which has proven to be a solid matchup for corners. Consider him a CB2 in cornerback required leagues.

Da'Norris Searcy (S, Buf) – He’s been working up to a breakout game and Week Eleven he got 9 solos and 2 assists with George Wilson out. If Wilson is out again Week Twelve, he’s a no brainer.

Gerald Sensabaugh (S, Dal) – His 7 solos and 2 assists in Week Nine bring his grand total for the year to 34 tackles, an interception, a blocked kick, and a fumble recovery. He's had at least four solos in each of his last four games, and no less than three tackles in any game this season. Sensabaugh is an unspectacular player, but if you need a DB2 as an injury fill-in or match up play, guys like him or Charlie Peprah from GB are guys I would turn to.

Chris Owens (CB, Atl) – Kelvin Hayden went down with an injury during the Week Eleven matchup and Owens came in for half a game and sprinted straight to the top of the box scores, finishing with 5 solos and 2 assists. He clearly likes to tackle and if he can do that in limited action, I’m interested to see how he does full-time.
